Transcontinental Railroad celebration. Engineers and workers celebrating the completion of the First Transcontinental Railroad in the USA. This celebration took place on 10 May 1869 at Promontory Summit, Utah. The two locomotives are Central Pacific No. 60 (left, the Jupiter) and Union Pacific No. 119 (right). The locomotive engineers exchanging champagne bottles are George Booth (left) and Sam Bradford (right). The two men shaking hands at centre are the chief engineers Samuel S.
