African rock python (Python sebae). This artwork is a hand-coloured lithograph (plate 61) from the final volume of 'Erpetologie Generale ou Histoire Naturelle complete des Reptiles' (nine volumes, 1834-1854) by the French zoologists Andre Marie Constant Dumeril (1774-1860), Gabriel Bibron (1805-1848), and Auguste Henri Andre Dumeril (1812-1870).
