Greenland coastal landscape, with low-lying vegetation on rocky crags. The coastal regions of Greenland are mostly ice-free in summer, though temperatures do not rise much above freezing. The fauna and flora include seabirds and grasses, mosses and lichen on the rocks. This area is part of a small group of rocky islands known as Ydre Kitsissut, located in south-west Greenland. It is home to important populations of seabirds and is a Ramsar site, recognised under the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance for its uniqueness.
