Typography dictionary. Title page of the 1875 second edition of 'A Dictionary of Typography' by the British printer, editor and author John Southward (1840-1902). This work was first published in book form in 1872. Southward was at the time one of the leading authorities on the history of printing, and also a Corresponding Member of the Franklin Society of Chicago, USA. At bottom are details of the book's London publishers.
