Fungal bladder infection. At right is the bladder after the growths had been removed, leaving only a dark patch from which the growths had originated. This account is part of a description by the French surgeon Claude Nicholas Le Cat (1700-1768), who invented a set of instruments (forceps in C011/2263) to carry out such operations. This page is from volume 47 (1751-2) of the journal 'Philosophical Transactions', published by the Royal Society of London. Le Cat was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1740.
