Featherstar. Image of a featherstar, or crinoid, showing its branching structure. Featherstars, feed by filtering food particles from the water using their feathery arms, the hairs of which pass food to a central mouth. They inhabit shallow and deep waters across the world's oceans. This specimen was found on the Bellingshausen Sea continental shelf, Antarctica.
