Octopus anatomy. British naturalist Henry Baker (1698-1774) and illustrated by the British naturalist George Edwards (1694-1773). In the accompanying account, the octopus is named 'Bolytaena'. This page is from volume 50 (1757-8) of the journal 'Philosophical Transactions', published by the Royal Society of London. Both Baker and Edwards were elected Fellow of the Royal Society in 1741 and 1757 respectively.
