Asian tiger mosquitoes (Aedes albopictus) breeding. Any abandoned container and standing water, such as this small glass jar, can become a breeding place for this mosquito's larvae and pupae. This mosquito, native to South-East Asia and the Indian Ocean, is a vector for pathogens such as West Nile virus, yellow fever virus, dengue virus and zika virus.
