The Eiffel Tower was designed by Alexandre Gustave Eiffel for the Paris Exhibition of 1889. The tower is a 324 metre tall open-lattice wrought iron structure located on the southern bank of the Seine River in Paris, France. The Eiffel Tower was the tallest man-made object in the world until it was replaced by the Chrysler Building in New York City, USA, in 1930.
