Intestinal papilloma. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of a papilloma from a person's intestine. Papillomas are benign (non-cancerous) tumours that arise from epithelial (lining) tissue. Intestinal papillomas are most common in the colon and rectum, where they sometimes bleed. Magnification: x400 when printed 10 centimetres wide.
