This is a broadcast on Channel 1. Other tape messages are seen filed at right. A report of the outgoing message is being printed simultaneously on the machine in front of her. The Met Office is the UK's national weather monitoring and forecasting service. A variety of communication methods have been used during its history. Tape-fed teleprinters were mostly used in the mid-20th century.
