Jupiter and its Galilean moons. Jupiter is the banded white disc at lower right. The moons (Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto) are the four dots, two either side of the planet. Two of the moons are at bottom right, two of them are at upper left. Jupiter has a diameter of around 142,000 kilometres, while the four moons seen here orbit Jupiter at distances ranging from 420,000 kilometres to 1.8 million kilometres.
