Ascaris roundworm. Light micrograph of a transverse cross-section through a roundworm (Ascaris lumbricoides). The male is at right and the female at left. In the female are two ovaries with eggs (red) and surrounded by uteri and oviducts (purple). The flattened tube is the intestine. The male is similar but with round testes and smaller seminal vesicles, with a flattened intestine. Magnification: x3 when printed at 10 centimetres wide.
