Pink-footed geese (Anser brachyrhynchus) alighting on a coastal ice floe. These are migratory birds found in eastern Greenland, Iceland and Svalbard. They fly south to winter in north-western Europe. The Greenland and Iceland populations winter in the UK. They feed on tundra plants in the summer, and grasses and agricultural crops in the winter. Photographed off the island of Lindisfarne, Northumberland, UK.
