Navratil brothers, Titanic survivors. Michel Marcel Navratil (1908-2001, left) and Edmond Roger Navratil (1910-1953, right) after the sinking of RMS Titanic. Titanic sunk with the loss of 1517 lives during its maiden voyage when it struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic on the night of 14 April 1912. The Navratil brothers, from Nice, France, were on board with their father, who had kidnapped them from his estranged wife. He died in the sinking, leading to newspaper appeals that located their mother, who was re-unified with them on 16 May 1912. Michel was Titanic's last living male survivor. This photograph is from the Bain News Service.
