Sea shell collection. These empty shells housed marine gastropod molluscs (sea snails). The shells mainly comprise calcium carbonate, and are formed from secretions produced by the mollusc inside. The shell grows in size over time, following a spiral pattern, with different species producing the variety of shapes and sizes seen here.
