Blood flow in tadpole tail. High-speed differential interference contrast microscopy showing the flow of blood through capillaries in the tail of a common toad (Bufo bufo) tadpole. The horizontal field of view is 500 micrometres. The tadpoles were unharmed by this procedure, and were released back into the wild.
