Ciliate protozoa (Coleps sp.) reproducing sexually by conjugation. These protozoa conjugate by forming a connection between them through which they exchange genetic material. They are also able to reproduce asexually by binary fission. Ciliate protozoa are tiny single-celled organisms that are found in water. They feed on bacteria and decaying organic matter.
