Depression. Young woman sitting on a bed, her hands to her head, feeling depressed and upset. Such depression is sub-clinical, often described as 'feeling down'. This may be associated with feelings of loneliness, deep boredom or a teenage crisis. Severe forms of such depressive states tend to fall into the category of neuroses. Sub-clinical depression normally responds well to counselling or psychotherapy.
