Digital blood pressure monitor (sphygmomanometer). This device is used to measure a person's blood pressure, an important indicator of health. Readings that have been taken at different times of the day can be seen recorded in the booklet below the monitor. Blood pressure numbers include systolic (top of screen) and diastolic (bottom of screen) pressures. Systolic blood pressure is the pressure when the heart beats while pumping blood. Diastolic blood pressure is the pressure when the heart is at rest between beats. Here both the systolic and diastolic readings are within normal levels.
