Plasma cell. Transmission electron micrograph (TEM) of a plasma cell in a breast cancer biopsy. Its nucleus is at centre lefy and the thin dark lines in the cytoplasm are rough endoplasmic reticulum. Plasma cells are mature B lymphocytes (white blood cells) that produce and secrete antibodies during an immune response. Magnification: x400 when printed 10 centimetres wide.
