Little owl (Athene noctua) taking off from a tree, high-speed footage. The little owl is found throughout Europe and central Asia, living in open country and feeding on insects, amphibians and smaller birds and mammals. As its name implies it is a little owl, averaging some 25 centimetres in length. Filmed in Normandy, France, at 500 frames per second (x20).
