Caption

Amoxicillin antibiotic molecule. Animation of a molecule of the antibiotic drug amoxicillin, also known as amoxycillin. This antibiotic works by attacking the cell walls of bacteria, though some bacteria can develop resistance to this antibiotic, requiring it to be taken with clavulanic acid. It is used to treat a range of infections, and is often prescribed for use in children. Atoms are represented as spheres and are colour-coded: carbon (black), hydrogen (white), nitrogen (blue), oxygen (red) and sulphur (yellow).
