Timelapse footage of archaeologists excavating at a dig site. This was filmed in the Sierra de Atapuerca region, which consists of numerous sites from which bones of human ancestors, notably Homo heidelbergensis, have been found. The sites at Atapuerca contains hominin remains from a wide range of ages, from 1.2 million years ago to Bronze Age and anatomically modern humans. It was dedicated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000.
