Tarbosaurus. Mounted fossil skeleton of an adult (right) and juvenile Tarbosaurus, a genus of bipedal carnivorous dinosaur that lived about 70 million years ago in the late Cretaceous period. Closely related to the Tyrannosaurus, Tarbosaurus was an apex carnivore that lived in river flood plains in what is now Mongolia. Numerous complete skeletons have been found. Photographed at the Orlov Palaeontological Museum in Moscow, Russia.
