Frontispiece of 'Anatome Plantarum' (1675) by the Italian physician and microscopist Marcello Malpighi (1628-1694). The artwork shows putti crowning three tiger-like animals with floral wreaths. The author's name and the title of the work is across bottom in Latin text. The full title of this work was 'Anatome Plantarum pars altera'.
