Harlequin ladybird and aphids. Harlequin ladybird (Harmonia axyridis) hunting aphids (superfamily Aphidoidea, green) on a plant stem. Originally from Asia, this ladybird is an invasive species introduced throughout North America, and north-western Europe and the UK. Ladybirds typically prey on aphids and other plant-dwelling insects. Photographed in the UK.
