It is bordered by Kazakhstan (top), Uzbekistan (centre left), Tajikistan (lower left) and China (lower right). Issyk Kul lake (blue) can also be seen. Issyk Kul is the tenth largest lake in the world by volume, the second largest saline lake after the Caspian Sea, and the second largest mountain lake after Titicaca. Image compiled from data acquired by the LANDSAT 5 and 7 satellites, in 2000.
