Wrist ligaments. Computer artwork of the bones of a human hand, showing the ligaments (white) holding together the bones of the wrist. Most of the ligaments shown here are radiate carpal ligaments, of which there are seven, running from the central capitate bone to the surrounding bones. Other wrist bones include the scaphoid, lunate, triquetral, pisiform, trapezium, trapezoid, and hamate. These bones are collectively the carpus. Above the wrist are the ulna (left) and radius (right), the two lower arm bones. The bones of the hands are the metacarpals, with three phalanges (two in the thumb) forming each finger.
