Low sun at the site for the European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT). This telescope will be the largest ground-based telescope in the world when it is completed in 2022, with a primary mirror with a diameter of 39.3 metres. It is being built at an altitude of more than 3000 metres, on the Cerro Armazones mountain in the Atacama Desert, Chile.
