Tuberculosis (TB) prevention badge, being worn by a nurse at a clinic that diagnoses and treats TB, an infection by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It usually infects the lungs and can cause severe scarring. If a TB infection is not completely eradicated, then drug-resistant forms can develop. It is usually treated by a course of antibiotic drugs, often several taken in combination. Photographed in the UK.
