Andre Brahic (born 1942). Portrait of the French astrophysicist Andre Brahic outside the Paris Observatory (Observatoire de Paris-Meudon), France. Brahic is best known for predicting the existence of the rings around the planet Neptune. The rings of Neptune consist primarily of five principal rings, predicted in 1984 by Andre Brahic and imaged in 1989 by the Voyager 2 spacecraft. Brahic has also worked on supernova, chaos theory, and the dynamics of galaxies, and is one of the world's specialists in the study of the solar system.
