Great Green Bush Cricket (Tettigonia viridissima) female. The female of this cricket mesaures 40 to 55 millimetres long, with the males being smaller than the females, it is the largest cricket to be found in the UK. The female can be determined by her long ovipositor (at end of abdomen, left) which they use to lay eggs in the ground. Photographed in south west Cornwall, UK, on a field gate.
