Electroshock weapon. A salesperson discharging an electroshock weapon in the air, creating a large visible spark. Electroshock weapons discharge at about 200-300 kV but with sub-lethal voltage. In contact with skin this causes the muscles to go into spasm. The weapons are designed to allow police and military security personnel to incapacitate a person without resorting to lethal force such as a firearm.
