Mycosis fungoides skin cancer. Close-up of a red patch on the skin of a patient with Mycosis fungoides. This condition is a type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, a cancer of the immune system that affects lymphoid tissue, primarily affecting the skin and progressing to form ulcers. Mycosis fungoides is a form of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL), which, unlike most non-Hodgkin's lymphomas that are generally B-cell related, is caused by a mutation of T cells.
