Ichthyosis histrix after treatment. Young male patient after treatment for ichthyosis histrix. Ichthyosis is a heterogeneous family of at least 28 mostly genetic skin disorders. All types of ichthyosis have dry, thickened, scaly or flaky skin. Treatment often takes the form of topical application of creams and emollient oils, in an attempt to hydrate the skin. Here the patient's dry scaly skin is still apparent but is markedly better than before treatment.
