Volcanic rock samples. These are examples of a volcanic rock called scoria, ejected from the cone of the volcano. At left is a typical volcanic bomb (tear-shaped) weighing 1.5 tonnes. It comes from the Puys chain of volcanoes. These samples are part of the Geoscope geological park, located between Les Monts-Vert and Albaret-Sainte-Marie, central France.
