CT scanning an emu carcass. A dead, deep-frozen emu undergoing a computerised tomography (CT) scan at the Royal Veterinary College, UK. This emu is a specimen acquired by Professor John Hutchinson, a zoologist specialising in animal locomotion. Data from the scan will be used to create virtual models of the animal. Photographed in 2012.
