PlanetSolar boat construction. Workers inside the cabin of the PlanetSolar solar-powered boat as it is being built. Measuring 30 metres long and 15 metres wide, and with a covering of 500m2 of solar panels, MS Turanor PlanetSolar is the largest solar-powered boat in the world (as of 2012). It was designed by LOMOcean Design, built by Knierim Yachtbau in Kiel, Germany, and launched on 31st March 2010.
