COPD research. Close-up of an ear-clip device being used to measure oxygen levels in the ear's peripheral blood vessels. This is part of a study being carried out into chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Participants had changes in various respiratory values and blood oxygen levels monitored, both while resting and while exercising. This device will measure the blood oxygen saturation level (SpO2).
