Bone cancer. Positron emission tomography (PET) scan of the pelvis of a 55 year old male patient with osteosarcoma (bone cancer, bright area). This highly malignant cancer, more common in young people, usually starts in a long bone and spreads rapidly. To prevent spread, removal of part of the affected bone or even amputation may be required.
