Wolf spider (Family: Lycosidae) scurrying across a rock. These spiders don't spin webs and, like wolves, hunt for and chase down their food. There are more than 2,000 wolf spider species and they can be found throughout most of the world. They can have legspans reaching 7.5 cm, nearly the size of some tarantulas.
