Reticulosarcoma. Light micrograph of reticulocytes (immature red blood cells) in a case of reticulosarcoma. These cells have a basophilic cytoplasm (reacting positively to a basic dye or stain). Sarcomas are a form of cancer that arise from various tissues including blood-producing tissues such as bone marrow. Mature red blood cells (orange) are also present.
