Agglestone Rock. This large sandstone block is an eroded relic of iron-cemented, Tertiary sandstone, the Agglestone Grit. It weighs about 400 tonnes and is perched on a conical hill in Godlingston Heath, about 1 mile from the Sudland, Dorset, UK. Legend has it that the devil threw the rock from the Isle of Wight with the intention of hitting Corfe Castle.
