Fledgling swallow. Fledgling barn swallow (Hirundo rustica) perching on roof tiles. The barn swallow is the most widespread species of swallow in the world. The fledged young stay with, and are fed by, the parents for about a week after leaving the nest. Photographed in Dorset, UK, in August.
