African wildcat in a thorntree (Acacia sp.). African wildcats (Felis silvestris lybica) are a wildcat subspecies that occur across northern Africa and extend around the periphery of the Arabian Peninsula to the Caspian Sea. They eat primarily mice, rats and other small mammals. Photographed in the Kalahari Gemsbok National Park, South Africa.
