Caption

T-cell receptor bound to enterotoxin, molecular model. The T cell receptor (TCR) is a protein complex found on the surface of a type of white blood cell called T lymphocytes (or T cells). It interacts with antigens and plays a vital role in the immune system. Here, the TCR molecule is bound to enterotoxin H from the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus. This enterotoxin is an example of a superantigen (SAg).
