South American sea lions (Otaria flavescens) congregating in a coastal breeding area. Several young (pups, black) are in the foreground. Adult males and females are orange-brown in colour. This sea lion is found on the Pacific and Atlantic coasts of southern South America. They feed on fish and cephalopods such as squid. Pups are born between December and February.
