Lizardfish (Synodus synodus) in a rocky area. This fish lives on sandy seabeds, where it waits to ambush its prey of other fish. Its large eyes and small and pointed teeth are seen. It can reach lengths of 40 centimetres. It is found in the subtropical waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Photographed in the Atlantic, off the Canary Islands.
