Urinary system. Computer artwork showing the organs of the human urinary system. The kidneys (red, top left and right) filter waste products such as urea from the blood to form urine. The urine drains to the bladder (lower centre) through the ureters (tubes, vertical, left and right). The urine then leaves the bladder through the urethra (bottom centre). On top of each kidney is an adrenal gland, which produces adrenaline, along with other hormones. Adrenaline is produced as part of the flight-or-fight response.
